Christ's College is seeking to appoint a Part-time Maintenance Electrician to join the Maintenance Team.\n\nMaintenance Electrician\nLocation: St Andrew's Street, Cambridge, CB2 3BU\nSalary: £15,219 per annum, actual (Spine Point 40) £37,033 per annum FTE\nHours: Part-Time, 15 hours, two days per week, Thursday and Fridays\n\nResponsible to the Senior Electrician / Maintenance Manager, this role involves working within a small College maintenance team rectifying electrical faults, emergency light testing and repairs, portable appliance testing, lamp changes and repairs to domestic appliances.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n * Experienced and skilled Electrician in Domestic and Commercial work\n\n * City & Guilds or NVQ 2/3 qualified\n\n * Familiar with 18th Edition of BS7671\n\n * Able to use IT Systems (Word, Outlook Etc)\n\n * Able to work unsupervised when necessary\n\n * Attend out of hours call-outs (Particularly when other electricians are on holiday)\n\n * Full Driving Licence\n\nSpecific Duties (non-exhaustive):\n\n * Emergency lighting testing and repairs.\n\n * Portable Appliance Testing.\n\n * Replacement of lighting lamps and tubes.\n\n * Repair of electrical appliances.\n\n * Fault finding and repair of electrical installations and equipment.\n\n * Fire alarm testing and repairs.\n\n * General electrical fault repairs as reported on the intranet fault system.\n\n * Installation and certification of electrical systems in accordance with the current IET Wiring Regulations.\n\nThe benefits on offer are many and include 33 days’ annual leave pro rata (including bank holidays), a defined contribution pension scheme with 6% (minimum) employer contribution, a health care cash plan funded by the College (allowing you to claim money for routine medical treatments including dental and optical), a free meal when on duty, and the opportunity to work in a beautiful environment.
