Maintenance Electrician – Heavy Industrial Environment



Location: Ilkeston

Shifts Available: Double Days (£51,086) | Nights (£66,411)



We’re hiring experienced Maintenance Electricians to join our hard-working team. This is a hands-on role maintaining and repairing large-scale heavy plant and machinery in a tough, dusty, heavy industrial environment — so previous industrial experience is essential.



What you’ll be doing



* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding quickly to breakdowns



* Minimising downtime with fast, effective electrical fault-finding and repairs



* Following all safety procedures and contributing to system improvements



* Using a CMMS system to manage tasks and complete records accurately



* Working closely with colleagues across maintenance, yard, and operations



* Supporting audits and overseeing contractors as required



What we’re looking for



* Electrically qualified with proven experience in heavy industry



* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills



* Hands-on experience with PLCs, inverters, motor controls, and safety circuits



* Knowledge of conveyors, shredders, screeners, and other large plant equipment



* Time-served electrical apprenticeship ()



* Any mechanical knowledge or skills will be an advantage

* Nights: Mon–Thurs 21:30–06:00 / Fri 21:30–03:30 (40 hrs) – £66,411
