The Maintenance Director is responsible for managing and leading the maintenance department, ensuring all facilities' systems, equipment, and infrastructure are operating at optimal performance. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, budgeting, and compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to facility management.
- Oversee the maintenance team, including maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to team members.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all facilities.
- Create and manage the annual maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Ensure all equipment and infrastructure are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Establish and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and evaluate maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, occupational health standards, and environmental policies.
- Implement safety training programs and conduct regular safety audits.
- Investigate maintenance-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with external vendors for specialized maintenance services.
- Maintain relationships with service providers and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory management.
- Prepare reports on maintenance performance, budget status, and operational efficiency for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience ).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or management, with a focus on leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and maintenance best practices.
- Proven experience in budget management and financial planning.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
