Job Description
Maintenance Assistant – Housing & Supported Living Services\nFull-time\nTemporary until end March 2026\n£13.05 per hour\nAre you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping homes safe, welcoming, and well-maintained?\nDo you enjoy working with people, ensuring that feel supported and well cared for?\nIf so, we’d love to hear from you.\nWe’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated Housing Services team, helping to ensure live in safe, comfortable environments across supported and older persons’ accommodation. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – from carrying out health and safety checks and fire alarm testing, to liaising with contractors, supporting , and maintaining high service standards.\n What you’ll be doing\n * Carrying out regular Health & Safety inspections in communal areas, gardens, and properties.\n * Reporting and tracking repairs and maintenance issues, ensuring works are completed on time.\n * Conducting fire safety checks, evacuation drills, and recording compliance actions.\n * Monitoring the quality of cleaning, gardening, and estate services, raising any performance issues.\n * Assisting with void property management – from inspecting and preparing empty homes to coordinating re-lets.\n * Supporting and liaising with support providers to ensure everyone feels safe and cared for.\n * Maintaining accurate records and contributing to performance reporting.\nAbout you\nWe’re looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and has a real passion for delivering excellent customer service.
