The Standard Group, a premier print management and marketing logistics company, is seeking a Post Press Operator to help grow our team in our Print and Technology Center in Lititz, PA. The primary purpose of the Mailing Machine Operator position is to prepare mail pieces as specified on the job ticket.  This can include any other process associated with addressing, finishing and mailing.  This position may become a rotating 1st and 2nd shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and operates the various machines to produce a job in an efficient an timely manner while meeting the customer's and TSG’s quality standards.
  • Checks work and assumes responsibility for accuracy and quality before passing the job on to the next step.
  • Follows company schedule for lubrication and routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans and replaces component parts of the equipment according to schedule and as required.  Performs emergency maintenance, when necessary.
  • Reports unusual wear, machine noises, and other faults of the equipment to the Supervisor.
  • Delivers the job in the correct manner as specified by the customer.  Can include packing and batching.
  • Properly accounts for materials received, and materials and time worked to appropriate jobs using the Shop Floor Data Entry system.  Documents additional job information when required.
  • Complies with TSG’s Current Best Operating Methods and policies for equipment operation.
  • Complies with Quality Management System (QMS) and policies for equipment operation.
  • Follows TSG recommended techniques for lifting, stacking, manipulating, and handling materials.
  • Maintains a clean work area by properly storing supplies and materials, removing waste, keeping areas surrounding worksite clean, and cleaning and storing tools.
  • Follows company procedures for storing raw materials, work in process, and finished products.
  • Applies procedures and techniques used to minimize waste and spoilage and waste disposal.
  • Complies with all policies in the employee handbook and all relevant local, state, federal, and OSHA safety regulations lock out tag out, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment.
  • Complies with company and manufacturer’s safety requirements for operating equipment. Uses proper procedures to ensure that safety devices are working (e.g. guards).
  • Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the manager.  These duties are nonessential and marginal functions of the position.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma/GED or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to operate lift and material handling equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.  Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities on multiple projects while maintaining quality of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate and compute numbers; analyze and solve problems on a daily basis
