Machine Operator – Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for safely operating and monitoring production machinery, loading and unloading parts, performing quality checks, making routine machine adjustments, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Start, operate, monitor, and shut down manufacturing equipment safely and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Load unfinished parts into machines and safely remove completed parts.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
  • Inspect parts using designated measuring instruments and follow quality requirements and specifications.
  • Identify machine or product issues and safely stop equipment when necessary.
  • Perform routine machine setups, periodic quality checks, and minor troubleshooting.
  • Operate sanding tools and other equipment used to support the manufacturing process.
  • Make routine machine adjustments to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
  • Meet production goals, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and take responsibility for performing work safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Communicate equipment, quality, or production issues to the Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and use hands and fingers for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive tasks involving tools, equipment, and manufacturing materials.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform work requiring close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment around moving mechanical equipment.
  • May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and moderate-to-loud noise.
  • Consistently wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Additional PPE, such as gloves or a hard hat, may be required depending on the department or specific task.

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and SOPs.
  • Safety-conscious with a strong attendance and work ethic.
  • Comfortable working on your feet and performing repetitive manufacturing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a reliable member of a production team.
