Machine Operator II

Machine Operator II is responsible for operating machinery. Machine Operator I involve basic tasks related to machine operation and production support. Machine Operator I work under close supervision and follows established procedures to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ability to start and stop the machine safely without supervision.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Ability to place raw material or unfinished parts and remove finished parts from machine safely.
- Monitor machine operation.
- Check part quality with designated measurement instruments.
- Understand when and how to stop machine safely.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery, such as cleaning and lubrication.
- Operate tools and machinery to aid the manufacturing process.
- Perform periodic checks on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Oversee the machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments to improve results.
- Produce quality parts according to manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Record all machine actions and log completed parts for record keeping.
- Keep a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Read and understand drawings
- Ability to change machine Setting to accommodate different sizes and dimensions
- Must have a further understanding of thread dimensions and thread terminology
- Ability to guide Machine Operator I with ongoing obstacles
- Understand Custom Pipe part number convention
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED.
- Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and quality .
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures (e.g. constant use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
- Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Skills
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to facers, lathes, CNC’s, and other mechanical machinery.
- Willingness to work in shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
Physical
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs,
- Bend, stoop, and stand or walk for long periods of time.
