Machine Operator – Extrusion Low Pressure

Job Summary

The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for monitoring extrusion production lines.  Scrap excess material at re-starts and changeovers.  During idle time operator is responsible for maintaining the work area clean and orderly.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Controlling and monitoring equipment

·         Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment

·         Operate large & heavy duty machinery such as shavers, grinders & lathes as needed

·         Know, understand and follow OSHA & safety regulations

·         Comprehend & demonstrate ability to perform quality inspections on extended sheet as well as record od the inspection data.

·         Good Housekeeping – maintain a clear work area

·         Monitor all day that bin levels are full

·         Understand material specifications for extended sheet & manufacturing orders in order to conform to product requirements.

·         Tag & record all production roll & scrap.

·         Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Work Experience

·         1 or more years of in-line extrusion process experience

·         Knowledgeable with various machines

·         Know, understand and follow OSHA & safety regulations

·         High school diploma or GED.

·         Strong Mechanical Aptitude

·         Excellent communication and essential interpersonal skills.

·         Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.

·         Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

·         Forklift Operation

·         Trouble shooting

·         Ability to cut & string up roll winding systems
