Machine Operator - Day Shift

Hours: 6a.m. to 2:30p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.

  • Load and unload components onto SMT machines according to production specifications.

  • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed to maintain optimal output and quality.

  • Inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) for soldering defects, component placement accuracy, and overall quality.

  • Perform manual touch-up soldering when necessary.

  • Utilize inspection tools such as microscopes and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of SMT machines to ensure smooth operation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues; escalate major problems to maintenance technicians or supervisors.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs.

  • Record production data, including quantity produced, defects, and downtime.

  • Complete necessary documentation for each production run.

  • Report production issues or quality concerns to the supervisor.

  • Work closely with the engineering team to implement process improvements.

  • Collaborate with quality control and other production staff to ensure a seamless workflow.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in electronics or related field .

  • Experience in SMT operation or electronics manufacturing is but not required.

  • Familiarity with SMT equipment such as screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI machines but not required.

  • Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly but not required.

  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and assembly instructions.

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity to handle small electronic components.

  • Good vision or corrected vision to see small details.
