ABOUT THIS ROLE

GU is a family-owned market-leading global sports nutrition brand, and we are looking for a Machine Operator to join our team!


SUMMARY OF ROLE
This position will set up and operate a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of our sports nutrition products. Packet production is routine in nature, but the operator must be able to troubleshoot when necessary. The ideal candidate also connects with GUs core values of Athleticism, Accountability, Innovation, Collaboration, Longevity, and Love.


This is a swing shift position, working the hours of 5:00a.m. -1:30p.m., Monday-Friday. Some weekend and overtime work required.


You are excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity to standards.
  • Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to product.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and report malfunctions to a Production Lead.
  • Ensure daily orders of required product are completed
  • Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production
  • Document maintenance of equipment as well as any down-time issues and solutions
  • Complete lot code verification and quality checks using Redzone application.
  • Clean production equipment or work areas.
  • Recommend ways to improve production equipment, processes, and systems
  • Adhere to all production quality and safety standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Receive cross-training and be willing to fill in as needed

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 3 years hands-on production experience; Bartelt experience a plus
  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly
  • Experience workingin a food manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, problem solve and work in a team environment
  • Must be self-motivated, able to use time effectively and can prioritize and make good decisions
  • Must be dependable and possess a positive outlook towards continuous improvement and achievement of production goals.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; ability to speak Spanish and/or Cantonese is a huge plus
