Machine Operator

Job Description

At Leatherman, we design and manufacture the world’s most iconic multi-tools — built to last and trusted around the globe. We are looking for a few experienced senior level Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team and help shape the quality and precision our customers expect.


What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate multiple machines, including Fanuc and Allen Bradley four-axis milling machines with robotic loading.
  • Perform complex, non-routine set-ups and changeovers requiring tight tolerances and advanced technical skills.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and program machinery to ensure quality output and smooth production flow.
  • Inspect and measure components using advanced tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Keyence, etc.) to maintain strict quality standards.
  • Partner with engineers and peers to recommend process improvements for productivity and quality.
  • Train and mentor junior operators in proper machine operations and best practices.


What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications .
  • 3–5 years of progressively complex machining experience (multi-axis/CNC experience strongly ).
  • Advanced machine operation and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to perform set-ups and changeovers across multiple machines.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and safety practices, including Lock Out/Tag procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and use shop math to solve problems.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and SPC is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
