Job Title: Job Shop Machinist
Location: Fort Collins
Schedule: Monday - Friday (7am-3:30pm)
Pay Rate: $25-$30 DOB
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Job Shop Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain a variety of manual and CNC machines to produce precision parts in small to medium batches. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience working in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual and CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work instructions to produce high-quality parts.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Troubleshoot and adjust machining processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with a variety of materials, such as steel, aluminum, plastics, and specialty alloys.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to solve machining challenges and meet production deadlines.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and report any issues to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a machinist in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment (manual and/or CNC).
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, feeds, speeds, and tooling.
- Ability to set up and run one-off or short-run jobs with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship .
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
