AET is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to work for a Government client based out of Washington, D.C. The Lead Systems Engineer/Information Engineer provides technical leadership and oversight for the design, integration, and optimization of the IRS M365 environment. This role ensures seamless execution of multi-project M365 initiativesincluding SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, AvePoint, Power Platform, and Microsoft Copilotwhile supporting the Contractors overall management and governance approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end engineering efforts across all M365 platforms, ensuring alignment with IRS enterprise objectives.
- Plan, design, and implement system enhancements, integrations, and configurations following approved architectures.
- Support the Contractors structured methodology for communication, performance tracking, and technical reporting.
- Oversee concurrent engineering tasks, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Provide SME-level guidance on system performance, capacity planning, and scalability across the IRS M365 environment.
- Collaborate with governance leads to ensure engineering activities meet standards for accountability and transparency.
- Support continuous improvement through solution optimization, automation, and proactive issue identification.
Qualifications:
- Obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Minimum 5 years experience supporting Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite in large corporate or federal environments.
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate).
- Strong .NET development skills (C#, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Advanced PowerShell scripting proficiency.
- Deep knowledge of Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD, and broader Azure ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Administration, M365 development, and PowerApps model-driven apps.
- Ability to manage permissions, retention, compliance, DLP, and other enterprise governance controls
- Experience with Copilot AI features for Power Platform and AI Builder.
