We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician with experience in fire alarm, data cabling and/or audio/video to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and residential sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication and security infrastructure, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ environments. Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including fire & security alarms, Audio/Video, CCTV, access control, intercoms, data cabling, VoIP telephony, and network infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Perform fiber and cable splicing and cable management for data and other low voltage systems using power tools and hand tools.
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure optimal system performance.
- Install cabling such as Cat5, Cat6, and other structured wiring for LAN (Local Area Network) connectivity in multi family or office environments.
- Configure network equipment including switches.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with fire alarm (NICET 1 or 2 ), security intrusion systems, Data Cabling, CCTV, Audio/Visual equipment and installation, access control, and central vac.
- Hands-on experience with data cabling techniques and troubleshooting data cables.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, maps and blueprints.
- Ability to use testing equipment such as ohmmeters for circuit testing and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers) and power tools necessary for cabling installation and equipment repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of fire/security alarm, data cabling as well as audio/video is .
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel between job sites as needed.
