We are seeking a skilled and licensed Low Voltage Journeyman to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low voltage systems across commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, system design, and field service, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Duties

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot video surveillance, access control systems, IDS, and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform cabling, wiring, and termination using hand tools and power tools in compliance with NEC standards.
  • Read and interpret schematics, system design documents, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct testing of low voltage devices and equipment including sensors, alarms, door hardware, door controllers, alarm panels, power supplies, and system software.
  • Provide field service support for system installation, maintenance, and repair at client sites.
  • Assist with system upgrades and integration involving telecommunication, security, and networking components.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and local codes such as NEC regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Low Voltage Journeyman license or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience in security system installation, alarm systems, or related field service roles.
  • Strong knowledge of system configuration, system commissioning, and security software.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to construction, cabling, and hardware installation.
  • Experience working with cabling, power tools, and various hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 72, and BICSI for low voltage wiring and electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex low voltage systems efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.   • ES3J or ES7J License
  • Experience with Axis, Hanwha, Hirsch, Rhombus, Leviton or Siemen product lines.
  • Able to pass a background check to work on government, and K-12 job sites
  • Valid and clean drivers license and record.
