Position: Low Voltage/Cable Technician
Department: IT
Job Description: Installation, modification, repair and maintenance of voice and data
cabling systems. Run fiber optic and copper cable, terminate cable.
Install surveillance cameras; test and troubleshoot.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Basic computer and network troubleshooting experience
Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
: 1+ years of commercial low voltage experience
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
Physically install CAT6 and CAT6A structured cabling systems
Pulling and routing CAT6 in a DATA CENTER or commercial environment
Testing cable/troubleshooting networking issues
Ability to climb 15 ladder
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs
Installation of outlets, pulling cable and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
Terminate, assemble and install connectors
Removal and demolition of abandoned cables
Maintain and reference industry standards
Must adhere to OSHA safety standards
Must be able to see colors/knowledge of codes
