
Logistics Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
- A logistics analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing logistics operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzing Customs data: Review and reconcile the virtual pedimentos material from the suppliers vs ERP balances, and close the pedimentos at the right time.
- Analyzing logistics data: This involves gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data related to logistics operations, such as transportation costs, inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and delivery times. The logistics analyst may use statistical analysis software or other tools to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Developing logistics strategies: Based on their analysis, the logistics analyst may develop strategies to optimize logistics operations, such as streamlining transportation routes, consolidating shipments, and implementing new technologies or processes to improve efficiency.
- Monitoring logistics performance: The logistics analyst may also be responsible for monitoring the performance of logistics operations on an ongoing basis, using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, inventory turnover, and order accuracy. They may report on performance to management and recommend changes as needed.
- Collaborating with other departments: The logistics analyst may work closely with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure that logistics operations are aligned with the needs of the organization and its customers.
- Maintaining logistics databases and systems: The logistics analyst may be responsible for maintaining databases and systems related to logistics operations, such as transportation management systems, inventory management systems, and order management systems.
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses: The logistics analyst may also be responsible for conducting cost-benefit analyses of proposed changes to logistics operations, such as investing in new transportation equipment or outsourcing logistics functions.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations: The logistics analyst may be responsible for ensuring that logistics operations comply with relevant regulations, such as customs regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and transportation safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles and practices certifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1 – 3 years of experience.
- Experience in IN, A1, Inbonds and Virtual Pedimentos operations (must)
- Experience with logistics software and systems, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to logistics operations
- Experience in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
