LOCAL Temporary Logistics Coordinator Needed (6 month assignment)
Part time Monday-Friday 10am-3pm
$23.00 - $27.00hr
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Logistics Coordinator will assist the Domestic and International Logistics Coordinators
Core job functions include managing domestic drayage carriers, coordinating billing packets to assure the timely payment of carrier invoices and assist with domestic call tags and quotes as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage non-EDI invoices and prepare for presentation to Freight Auditing Company for payment.
- Management monthly statements from carriers and Freight Auditing Company to obtain proof of payment from the Finance Department
- Audit freight bills for accurate pricing per carrier tariffs
- File damage and service failure claims with carriers and collaborate with internal departments and carriers to track minimize claims (as back up to Logistics Coordinator – Domestic)
- Dispute claim denials when appropriate
- Prepare daily Small Parcel Canada Export Commercial Invoice and related documents. (As back up)
- Track KPIs [Key Performance Indicators] to measure freight carrier performance and report to management
- Coordinate reverse logistics for customer returns; create call tags and schedule pickups at 3rd party facilities
- Assist in obtaining price quotes from carriers for large shipments, including from Drop Ship vendors (back up)
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by management
SKILLS
- Knowledge of freight rates and tariffs for domestic modes of transportation including LTL, TL, and parcel
- Understanding of freight claims process – Familiarity with MyEzClaim.com is a plus
- Excellent written/verbal communication
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
- Familiarity with Microsoft NAV, Generix SoloChain and Issue Tracker is a plus
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with freight carrier representatives, Contact Center representatives, and Purchasing personnel
- Familiarity with application of General Ledger codes is a plus
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
- Strong negotiation skills
EDUCATION
- Associate degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or Business Administration
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience dealing with domestic transportation companies/carriers
