Job Description:
Addison Group is partnering with a growing transportation and logistics organization to identify an Operations Executive for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative Customer Operations team supporting large customer accounts while gaining hands-on experience in freight management, transportation operations, and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, technically savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer calls and emails while providing exceptional service and timely updates.
- Enter, build, and maintain customer orders within transportation management systems.
- Schedule appointments with shippers and receivers through online portals, phone, and email.
- Plan, route, monitor, and track shipments to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate load, customer, shipper, and receiver information.
- Proactively identify and resolve shipment or service issues before they impact customers.
- Coordinate with customers, warehouses, carriers, accounting, and internal operations teams to ensure successful freight movement.
- Monitor and organize activity within load board systems.
- Assist with customer KPI reporting, transportation analysis, and cost-saving recommendations.
- Develop process documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives for customer accounts.
Qualifications:
- Customer-facing experience in a professional environment.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, supply chain, or a related industry is but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer proficiency.
- Ability to quickly learn new software and multiple internal systems.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree but not required.
