Job Description

Our client is a specialist UK logistics provider with over 30 years’ experience delivering high‑consequence cargo including government, defence, nuclear, medical, and high‑value shipments by road, air and sea, supported by accredited secure warehousing and screening services. As a Regulated Agent and member of IATA, BIFA, FTA and FIATA, they deliver excellence through integrity, adaptability, strategic focus and strict compliance.\n\nContinued growth has created a new opportunuity for a Logistics Coordinator. This position is suited to an individual with prior logistics or transport planning experience\nwho thrives in a fast-paced, high-security, and compliance-driven environment.

The role\nwill focus on the coordination and execution of specialist and time-critical transport\noperations, ensuring safety, security and service excellence are maintained throughout.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n• Lead and coordinate the daily planning and execution of domestic and international\nroad transport operations.\n• Prepare, validate, and issue transport documentation, permits, compliance paperwork,\nand method of movement plans.\n• Act as the key point of contact between customers, drivers, subcontractors, and\nsecurity partners to ensure seamless operational delivery.\n• Use the company’s Transport Management System (TMS) to create, monitor, and\nclose jobs, ensuring accuracy in job costing, invoicing, and performance reporting\n• Provide real-time operational oversight, responding promptly to delays, incidents, or\nlast-minute changes to ensure service recovery and customer satisfaction.\n• Assist with route planning, vehicle allocation, and scheduling in accordance with driver\nhours, load restrictions, and customer deadlines.\n• Support the commercial function by preparing quotations, monitoring profitability, and\nidentifying efficiencies in routing and resource allocation.\n• Ensure full regulatory and security compliance across all operations (including ADR,\nDGSA, and MOD movement protocols).\n• Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of precision,\naccountability, and continuous improvement.\n• Collaborate with the Compliance and Fleet teams to support audits, vehicle checks,\nand permit renewals.\n\nExperience:\n\n• Prior experience in transport operations, logistics coordination, or planning (minimum 2 years ).\n• Full clean UK driving licence (essential).\n• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (essential).\n• English proficiency (essential); (additional foreign skills\n(advantageous, particularly French or German).\n• Right to work in the UK.\n\n• Solid understanding of UK and European road transport operations, regulations, and\ncompliance frameworks.\n• Strong organisational and administrative skills with proven attention to detail.\n• Excellent communicator, capable of managing multiple stakeholders and maintaining\nprofessionalism under pressure.\n• Competent user of Microsoft Office and Transport/Logistics Management Systems (eg,\nMandata, Business Central).\n• Commercially aware with the ability to analyse costs, margins, and performance data.\n• Problem solver who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to\nmanage competing priorities.\n• A team player who promotes collaboration while being confident to work independently\nand make decisions
