SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the day to day management of the logistics function, ensuring cost
effectiveness and timely management of carriage, using approved vendors for Imports and Exports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizing all shipments in line with company requirements.
- Ensuring the integrity of import / export documentation, commercial invoices and packing lists.
- Timely preparation of import documentation and authorization for all air and sea shipments globally.
- Preparing and maintaining a delivery schedule and communicating to all relevant departments;
- Verification of all freight invoices.
- Maintenance of system data requirements and ensuring integrity at all times.
- Working closely with Purchasing:
- Continual review of shipping dates and reporting exceptions.
- To review the ‘value’ offered by existing suppliers, ensuring purchasing remains globally competitive.
- Assisting with the re-negotiating of terms of business/service level agreements and performance evaluation and taking corrective action as required;
- Perform all other job duties as assigned by the Management.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
2-5 years’ experience as a Logistics Specialist in a high volume manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment
Such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Prolonged sitting in an office.
