The Logistics Specialist is a key contributor to the operational success of our brokerage team. This role supports truck brokers and account managers by accurately entering and maintaining load data, verifying shipment details, and coordinating appointment scheduling. The Logistics Coordinator ensures all shipment records are built correctly in the transportation management system (TMS) and enables seamless execution of freight for our customers and partners. Responsibilities:
Intake, review, and enter shipment details into the TMS, ensuring all data fields (reference numbers, PO numbers, shipper/consignee info, equipment type, etc.) are complete and correct.
Coordinate and schedule pickup and delivery appointments in alignment with facility availability, customer service requirements, and carrier preferences.
Collaborate closely with truck brokers and account managers to ensure loads are prepared for timely execution and meet all customer expectations.
Maintain up-to-date and organized shipment records, including order adjustments, cancellations, and special instructions.
Ensures status entry and load updates are entered into any 3rd party portals accurately and in a timely manner, as needed
Communicate proactively with internal team members regarding any discrepancies, delays in scheduling, or missing information.
Document and communicate any shipment damages, shortages, and overages to the appropriate parties for resolution.
Assist with shipment or carrier communication when needed to support issue resolution or confirm critical details.
Contribute to continuous process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
Perform other operational support duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in logistics coordination, carrier relations, or a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field .
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proactive and collaborative mindset with a focus on team success.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve shipment or data issues efficiently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and transportation/logistics software (TMS experience ).
Prior logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience but not required.W3XW8R6
