ABOUT THE POSITION
Ventures is seeking a Loan Program Manager for their Capital Loan Program to lead and expand our small business lending initiatives in the Puget Sound region. This is an exciting growth opportunity for an experiencedCommunity Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) lending professional to make a difference for aspiring entrepreneurs.
PURPOSE:
The Loan Program Manager will have a key role in supporting clients access to capital by supporting them throughout the loan lifecycle, from origination to payoff, with integrated technical assistance, business coaching, and other support. The Manager is responsible for meeting one-on-one with Ventures clients, assisting entrepreneurs as they prepare loan and grant applications, supporting them as they complete the commercial leasing process, and following up with them over the life of their loan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management of Capital Programs
- Oversee pipeline of loan underwriting, management, and customer service.
- Assist business owners to prepare applications for Ventures capital programs through one-on-one consultations to review client business and financial management and prepare loan applications.
- Manage loan processing, including but not limited to client intake, loan documentation, and financial analysis as well as loan approval, disbursal, and repayment.
- Collaborate with training and coaching teams to facilitate open dialogue around loan performance.
- Supervise billing and invoicing processes and manage non-repayments and delinquent loans.
- Track and report key client success metrics, including loan repayment, financial and social impact, job creation, and revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with Small Business Administration (SBA) and CDFI Fund requirements, industry best practices and regulatory obligations, and reporting requirements.
- Respond to requests from donors including SBA, CDFI Fund, and private funding partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Financial Sustainability
- Implement underwriting criteria and portfolio strategies that balance financial sustainability with mission-driven impact.
- Develop partnerships with mission-aligned investors, banks, and philanthropic funders to increase loan capital and expand access for Social Enterprise Development Initiative (SEDI) entrepreneurs.
- Build internal capacity for efficient capital management and growth, ensuring lending programs scale while maintaining operational excellence.
- Work with leadership to diversify revenue streams and align capital programs with broader organizational financial goals.
Community Engagement
- Represent organization to entrepreneurs, community development lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Enhance financial education and technical assistance for borrowers to ensure entrepreneurs are loan-ready and set up for long-term success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of progressive experience in CDFI lending, small business finance, economic development, or impact investing within a nonprofit organization
- Advanced knowledge of credit administration, financial analysis, and lending procedures
- Knowledge of community economic development, entrepreneurship, and capital access challenges
- Strong expertise in loan underwriting, risk assessment, and financial modeling
- Strong understanding and experience working with credit-building agencies
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to effectively adjust to changing and evolving priorities and expectations
- Able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels of teammates across the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Bilingual (Spanish or other relevant to clients) is a strong plus
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Lenderfit and DownHome Solutions software or similar lending software systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates in a hybrid office environment with in-person work required MondayThursday; remote work on Fridays.
Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
Occasionally may lift up to 15 pounds.
May require occasional travel to events or external meetings.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Starting Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000 per year
