Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Loan Operations Manager to lead and optimize all aspects of our loan operations function. This role oversees documentation, servicing, and post-closing processes across multiple loan types, including Commercial, Consumer, Small Business, Mortgage, and SBA.

The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for building a high-performing team, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance, and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency and the customer experience. This position will collaborate closely with multiple business units and play a critical role in supporting the organization’s lending operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the loan operations team, including documentation, servicing, post-closing, collateral tracking, and reporting.

  • Drive process improvements through automation, workflow optimization, and new technology adoption.

  • Lead, coach, and develop staff (both remote and on-site), fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to annual budget planning and monitor departmental performance against goals.

  • Ensure compliance with lending regulations, internal controls, and company policies; proactively manage risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external service providers and technology vendors to ensure service quality and compliance.

  • Partner with IT to evaluate, implement, and improve loan processing systems and technology platforms.

  • Collaborate with lending officers and clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.

  • Develop key performance metrics, analyze data, and prepare regular reports to track departmental results and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Enhance the customer experience by ensuring smooth loan processes, timely communication, and high-quality service.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 8+ years of experience in bank operations, preferably within a publicly reporting company

  • 5+ years of management or supervisory experience

  • In-depth knowledge of loan documentation, servicing, and post-closing processes
