Role Summary:

Job Title: Senior/Lead Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: Up to £75,000 per annum

About the job:

As a proactive Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the heart of designing, building, and integrating critical Application and Operating System capabilities. This isn't a "business as usual" maintenance role; you will be executing against a high-level technical roadmap, pushing the boundaries of Linux-based environments and virtual infrastructure. You will be tasked with everything from security hardening to industry-leading standards (CIS, NIST) to implementing containerised applications and orchestrating complex OS upgrades. It is a role designed for a problem-solver who thrives in virtual environments and enjoys the challenge of integrating diverse security, monitoring, and backup solutions into a seamless, high-performance architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and integrate Linux-based operating systems (primarily Red Hat).
• Execute server provisioning within virtual environments and manage OS version upgrades.
• Implement security hardening (CIS/NIST) and threat remediation/mitigation.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot vendor monitoring tools, integrating them with Active Directory and backup solutions.
• Build Network and Infrastructure management tools using SNMP, Syslog, and IP networking.
• Produce high-quality High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
• Collaborate on project delivery plans and technical roadmaps.
