SUMMARY

Central Recycling Services a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Welder, Fabricator, and Light Duty Mechanic for its operations in Anchorage Alaska. The position will oversee and perform welding, fabrication, and light duty maintenance on equipment in the scrap yard and recycle area in accordance with all manufacturers’ recommendations, and company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

· Work with the Equipment Superintendent and Operations Manager’s to maintain all Equipment and keep it in safe, working order.

· Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done.

· Job may include fueling, lubrication, operating, laboring, preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, and repairs.

· Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Must have qualified experience as a welder and fabricator.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

· Ability to order necessary parts to complete maintenance and repairs as necessary.

· Ability to work independently without supervision.

· Welding Certifications

· Must regularly move and manipulate items weighing up to 50 pounds.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work in all weather and must be prepared for both extreme cold and heat. Will be working around heavy equipment, hazardous materials, dirt/dust, and loud noises.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· No supervisory responsibilities, provides direct reports.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
