Licensed Structural Engineer - Independent Subconsultant in Poughkeepsie
Job Description
Crafted Structural is looking to establish an ongoing relationship with a U.S.-based licensed structural engineer who is available for project-based consulting assignments.

This is an independent subconsultant opportunity intended for an engineer who operates their own practice or consulting business and is interested in supplemental, recurring project work. Work volume will vary and no minimum number of projects or hours is guaranteed.

\n
Typical work may include:
\n
• Structural analysis and design for residential and small commercial projects
\n
• Alterations, additions, renovations and existing-building projects
\n
• Design of wood, steel, concrete and masonry components
\n
• Foundation and framing design
\n
• Preparation of calculations, structural drawings and Revit models
\n
• Coordination with architectural drawings
\n
• Responses to internal review and permit comments
\n
\n
Ideal qualifications:
\n
• Active U.S. Professional Engineer license. State does not matter as we do work all over the country.
\n
• Legally authorized to provide engineering services in the states where assigned
\n
• Professional liability insurance
\n
• Experience with applicable building codes and structural standards
\n
• Proficiency in Revit, and AutoCAD and structural-analysis software
\n
• Strong written communication and attention to drawing quality
\n
• Ability to independently manage assigned work and meet agreed milestones
\n
\n
Crafted Structural will provide the project scope, design criteria, required deliverables, deadlines, and drawing/modeling standards. The consultant will control their working schedule and methods while coordinating at agreed project milestones. All work will be subject to professional review and must conform to applicable codes and Crafted Structural documentation standards.

\n
Compensation will be established as a fixed for each assignment based on its defined scope. Additional services will be authorized separately.
