As a Licensed Electrician on the Residential team, you will play a critical role in our solar operations. Your responsibilities will include leading the installation and troubleshooting of electrical service equipment, wiring, battery storage systems, and EV chargers for residential solar PV systems. You will ensure all work complies with safety regulations and electrical codes, supervise installation teams, and coordinate with electrical inspectors. This leadership role is essential to maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of our energy solutions.
In this role, you'll get to:
- 
Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices for residential solar PV systems 
- 
Install solar components including solar modules, inverters, main service panels, load centers, disconnects, junction boxes, combiner boxes, and monitoring equipment 
- 
Wire and integrate battery storage systems, electrical upgrades, and EV chargers, ensuring full compliance with system requirements and interconnection standards 
- 
Interpret and implement electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and site plans to guide precise system installations 
- 
Conduct electrical testing including voltage verification, continuity checks, system performance analysis, and basic commissioning 
- 
Ensure all electrical work meets company specifications, quality standards, the Electrical Code (NEC), and local jurisdictional requirements 
- 
Manage on-site material organization, equipment readiness, and ensure job sites are clean, safe, and properly staged for work 
- 
Maintain detailed records of installation progress, including photos, reports, and system documentation 
- 
Communicate effectively with project managers, operations teams, and homeowners regarding project status and expectations 
- 
Perform service and maintenance work, troubleshooting and repairing solar PV systems, battery storage, electrical panels, and EV chargers 
- 
Ensure all installations and service work are completed to the highest safety standards, following company policies and regulations 
- 
Keep company vehicles well-maintained, fully stocked, and properly serviced 
- 
Follow all safety regulations and policies to ensure a safe working environment 
- 
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success 
On your first day, we'll expect you to have: 
- 
Valid Journeyman's or Master's License Required 
- 
Must have at least 2 years of recent residential electrical experience; solar experience is a plus 
- 
Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and wiring 
- 
Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, including wiring, assembly, and troubleshooting 
- 
Ability to identify and resolve basic electrical issues in the field 
- 
Familiarity with the Electrical Code (NEC) 
- 
Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods 
- 
Comfort working in attics and confined spaces 
- 
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly 
- 
Proficiency with smartphones and tablets for communication, documentation, and use of job-related applications 
- 
A strong record of reliable attendance and punctuality 
- 
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills 
- 
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 
- 
Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job 
- 
Position requires passing a drug screening and background check 
- 
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
