Job Title: Michigan Licensed Electrician (Journeyman)

Location: Michigan (various project sites)

Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Per Diem: $150 per day worked (must meet qualification requirements)

Schedule: Six 10-hour days per week | 4-month project

Job Type: Full-time | In-person

Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Michigan Journeyman Electrician (LARA) to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including pump station hookups. This position requires adherence to safety standards, blueprints, and technical guidelines in commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams/blueprints to ensure proper installation.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using hand and power tools.
  • Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by helper.
  • Splice wires and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuits using instruments such as ohmmeter, oscilloscope, or battery/buzzer.
  • Observe installed equipment for hazards or the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems as needed.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and project rules, including LOTO and other protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid State of Michigan Journeyman Electrical License (LARA).
  • Must have OSHA 10 or higher certification.
  • Must meet per diem qualification requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent .
  • Previous experience as a journeyman electrician in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and reliable.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for wiring and electrical work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50 per hour
  • $150 per day per diem (for days worked; must meet qualifications)

  • 4-month project with steady hours
