Job Description Job description:
The Welder Fabricator IV position encompasses Production Welding and Quality responsibilities. Duties include analyzing blueprints, welding jobs, maintaining production standards, and producing consistently accurate work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs production welding following The Metalworking Groups standardized work processes and quality procedures.
- Performs visual quality checks and takes appropriate action to correct defects.
- Performs complex dimensional layouts to complete products without fixtures
- Completes complex weldments without guidance or supervision
- Prepares materials for welding, cuts, grinds, and cleans metal.
- Produces work daily that is consistently accurate.
- Provides feedback to supervisor on problems with the welding process.
- Must generate quality welds
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequently stand, sit, twist and use their hands, fingers and wrists to grip, twist and bend to operate controls. The employee will occasionally will be required to walk, stoop, pull objects, kneel and climb stairs. The employee will be required to occasionally reach high and low and lift items weighing 35 to 75 lbs. Gross and fine motor skills required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires minimum 5 years experience
- Extensive blueprint reading and weld symbol understanding
- Capability to MIG weld
- Capability to TIG weld
- Must be able to Spray Arc
- Ability to Flux core horizontal & vertical
- Capability to weld all types of materials
- Ability to design and create fixtures
- Ability to perform complex dimensional calculations
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve fit up issues
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve weld machine issues
- Ability to set up weld machine to different types of materials
- Must create quality welds and identify poor welds and know how to repair them

Qualifications:
5+ years of Top Tier welding experience. Very complicated welds. Weldments 10K to 15K lbs, Could be 200 hours on 1 job
Example would be: I beam and C Channel 10'x20' long

Mig, Tig, Spray Arc, Flux core horizontal and vertical, Multiple materials, complex dimensional calculations, Design and create fixtures, Troubleshoot and resolve fit up issues, weld machine issues, etc. All weld must be high quality, if they see poor welds, they must be able to repair.
