We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Level II Auto/Diesel Technician to join
our team. As a Level II Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and
maintaining automotive and diesel vehicles. You will work with a variety of vehicles,
including trucks, and heavy-duty equipment. Your expertise in automotive and diesel
systems, coupled with your strong problem-solving skills, will be essential in delivering high quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have a passion for automotive technology, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex diagnostic tests on automotive and diesel vehicles to identify issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Conduct thorough inspections and analysis of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, braking systems, and fuel systems.
- Repair and replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, fuel injectors, brakes, and suspension systems, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot and pinpoint vehicle malfunctions.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and specifications for repair procedures, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers, explaining repairs needed and providing cost estimates for services.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Assist and mentor junior technicians as needed, providing guidance and support in complex repair procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized automotive/diesel technician program .
- At least 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician, specializing in diesel vehicles.
- Solid understanding of automotive and diesel systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and computerized controls.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic software, multimeters, and scan tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices when working with automotive and diesel equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical individuals.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- ASE certifications or other relevant certifications .
