Team: Tier 2

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Director (6+ PQE) to join a market-leading,

Top 70 firm

and work within a highly ranked

Tier 2 department .

You'll advise on some of the most complex and high-value projects in the clean energy sector, including offshore and onshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture, heat networks and solar, while taking on a senior leadership role within the department.

As Director, you\'ll not only lead on transactions and regulatory advice but also:

Shape team strategy, working closely with Partners on practice growth.

Mentor and supervise junior lawyers.

Build and deepen client relationships, winning work and positioning the firm as a market leader.

Represent the team at industry events, enhancing both your profile and the firm\'s standing in the market.

The Work

Advising on major regulatory reforms, such as grid connections, offshore transmission, hydrogen regulation, carbon capture and storage.

Drafting and negotiating high-value, complex commercial contracts, including PPAs, CfDs, O&M agreements, and joint development agreements.

Supporting strategic M&A and financing transactions across the clean energy sector.

Leading negotiations on compensation and mitigation agreements (e.g. coexistence arrangements, radar mitigation, biodiversity net gain).

Developing regulatory and commercial strategies for major developers and investors in the UK and beyond.

Your Experience

6+ PQE with relevant experience in Infrastructure and Energy work

Strong track record of leading client relationships and managing high-value work.

Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and inspire junior colleagues.

Skilled in negotiating complex contracts and providing clear, commercial advice.

A proven interest in business development, with the confidence to contribute to growth strategy and win work.

Ambition to progress to Partner level, with the drive to play a central role in shaping the practice.
