General Job Summary
The Lean Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for maintaining the Mathews Brothers SOP library for manufacturing processes and procedures. This will include keeping all current SOPS up to date, writing new SOPs, and creating process flow diagrams. This position will also take the lead role in facilitating LEAN meetings and improving the Gemba board process. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the Production Director.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain SOP library ensuring all processes and procedures are up to date with current practices
- Maintain quality control library ensuring all are up to date with current practices
- Create all new SOPs needed
- Create all new quality control documents needed
- Manage and facilitate Lean meetings in both Hermon and Belfast
- Host and/or facilitate Lean education sessions
- Partner with Manufacturing and Maintenance Directors on optimizing floor and loading dock layouts
- Create and manage all process flow diagrams
- Optimize Gemba Board process
- Project manage transition to digital Gemba Boards/Gemba Walls
- Create MS projects for tasked deadlines
- Take a lead role in facilitating Kaizen events
- Identify types of waste with current systems/processes and develop ways to streamline and track success
- Partner with the Automation Lab on all their equipment needs

Skills/Experience/Training
- Bachelors degree in applicable field of study
- Lean certification
- Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well with a team and collaborate with others
Working Conditions
- Hours can be flexible, but roughly 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to grasp and lift
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus required
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration
- Regularly exposed to high noise level
