Lead Software Quality Engineer

Mission

We are hiring a Lead Quality Engineer to help transform how our engineering team builds and releases software.

This role is not about managing test execution.
It is about embedding quality into engineering practices so defects are prevented earlier and releases become faster and safer.

You will work closely with developers and engineering leadership to move our team toward continuous quality ownership, rather than relying on QA at the end of the release cycle.

Responsibilities

Quality Strategy

• Define and evolve our quality engineering approach across development and release processes.
• Introduce practices that shift testing earlier in the development lifecycle.

Engineering Enablement

• Partner with developers to improve testability, reliability, and automated testing practices.
• Help teams adopt strong unit, integration, and API testing.

Release Confidence

• Establish clear release readiness criteria and risk-based testing strategies.
• Use CI/CD pipelines to provide fast feedback and prevent regressions.

Continuous Improvement

• Define and track quality metrics such as escaped defects, test reliability, and release stability.
• Identify systemic improvements to increase engineering quality over time.

Requirements

• Experience improving engineering quality practices, not just executing tests.
• Strong understanding of automation strategy, CI/CD testing, and modern QA principles.
• Comfortable working closely with developers and influencing engineering decisions.
• Able to think about quality at the system level, not just individual test cases.
