Lead Software Developer

$165,000 - $215,000 DOE

I’m working with a US law firm that is investing heavily into its internal technology and AI capabilities.

\n

\n

They are looking for a Lead Software Developer to take ownership of the design and development of custom applications and AI-powered tools used across the business.

\n

\n

This is not a role where you will be leading from a distance. They want someone who still enjoys being hands-on with the code while taking ownership of architecture, technical direction and mentoring the wider development team.

\n

\n

What you’ll be doing

\n

\n
• Design and build internal applications from concept through to production.

\n

• Lead technical architecture and development decisions.

\n

• Remain heavily hands-on with Python.

\n

• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines.

\n

• Own containerisation across Docker and Kubernetes environments.

\n

• Build AI and LLM-powered applications including RAG and agentic workflows.

\n

• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools.

\n

• Mentor developers through code reviews and technical coaching.

\n

• Improve testing, code quality, scalability and security.

\n

• Work directly with senior stakeholders to turn business problems into technical solutions.

\n

\n

What they’re looking for

\n

\n
• 7+ years' software development experience.

\n

• Strong hands-on Python expertise.

\n

• Experience with Django, FastAPI or Flask.

\n

• Previous experience as a Technical Lead or senior-level IC.

\n

• Strong CI/CD experience.

\n

• Docker and Kubernetes experience.

\n

• Experience putting AI/LLM integrations into production.

\n

• Exposure to TypeScript / JavaScript would be beneficial.

\n

• Experience across Azure, AWS or GCP.

\n

\n

\n

Experience building RAG pipelines, agentic systems, MLOps or AI applications would be a big advantage.

\n

\n

Package

\n

$165,000 – $215,000 base salary DOE plus a comprehensive benefits package.

\n

\n
