We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team supporting the delivery of major power and energy infrastructure projects across the UK.This is a key opportunity to take a leading commercial role within a growing energy programme, working on complex and high-value infrastructure schemes that are critical to the UK's transition to sustainable energy.The OpportunityAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of energy transmission, substation, and associated infrastructure projects . You will play a vital role in ensuring strong cost control, effective contract administration, and proactive management of change throughout the project lifecycle.Working closely with project teams, engineers, and senior stakeholders, you will help drive successful delivery across multiple workstreams within a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.This role offers hybrid working with 2 days per week on site , providing a strong balance between flexibility and hands-on project involvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the commercial management of power and energy infrastructure projectsAdminister and manage contracts (primarily NEC, Option C experience desirable )Manage the full lifecycle of Compensation Events and change control processesMaintain control of Defined Cost, budgets, and cost forecastingPrepare detailed cost reports, valuations, and financial updatesOversee subcontractor procurement, payments, and account managementSupport risk identification, mitigation, and commercial opportunity managementProvide clear commercial advice to project teams and senior stakeholdersEnsure compliance with NEC procedures and client commercial governanceSupport negotiation and resolution of commercial issues where requiredAbout YouProven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the power, energy, or utilities sectorStrong understanding of NEC contracts (essential)Experience with NEC Option C target cost contracts highly desirableStrong background in cost control, forecasting, and change managementDemonstrable experience working on complex infrastructure projectsExcellent commercial awareness and analytical capabilityStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teamsWhat's on OfferOpportunity to work on major UK power and energy infrastructure projectsExposure to complex transmission and substation programmesStrong pipeline of long-term energy sector workCollaborative and supportive project environmentClear career progression opportunitiesHybrid working - 2 days per week on siteThis is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong power and energy experience to take a key commercial role within a growing and essential UK infrastructure sector.
