We are seeking a highly skilled Hybrid Lead Project Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing and engineering team. This pivotal role combines technical leadership with project management expertise to oversee complex engineering projects across manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems. Duties

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues in manufacturing processes or equipment and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Develop detailed schematics, CAD models, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and other CAD software tools.
  • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, CNC machines, and vision inspection systems to optimize automation.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly line integration, tooling design, and industrial equipment installation for new or upgraded systems.
  • Perform mechanical engineering tasks including welding, fabrication, tooling design, and mechanical system integration.
  • Utilize industrial engineering techniques to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste in manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct factory experience assessments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and other quality management systems.
  • Support factory floor activities by providing technical guidance on robotics programming, CNC programming (including GDT and CAM), and industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication among design teams, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience in project scheduling within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo; experience with Schematics design is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), robotics programming, CNC programming (including GD&T), CAM programming, and vision inspection systems.
  • Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes and tooling design for manufacturing applications.
  • Practical knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication methods, assembly line operations, and industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with industrial engineering skills to optimize production workflows.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility environment with exposure to ISO 9001 standards is highly desirable.
