Lead Multiskilled Engineer, Scunthorpe - Office & Tools based
Package: £52k BASIC + OVERTIME (1.5X) + COMPANY SICK PAY

Schedule: 4 on 4 off – 12-hour shifts
* 20% Office administration / 80% On the tools
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of site
mechanical and electrical technicians. Working closely with production, operations and technical to improve engineering standards and efficiency, being also responsible for the training and development of the engineering team within your area of control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading by Example: Driving the team from the front, this key role requires active participation in all tasks and processes.
* Hands-On Approach: Ensuring a proactive and leading approach to addressing issues and managing tasks.
* CMMS Reporting: Ensuring all work is promptly and accurately reported on the Shire CMMS system,
* maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and tasks.
Receive shift handover information from the Production Area Manager:
* Ensuring smooth transition of information between shifts, actively engaging with the Area Manager to gather critical details.
Shift handover communication to technicians/operators:
* Effectively communicating shift handover information to technicians and operators, ensuring clarity and understanding of tasks and priorities.
Attend SIC shift production meeting:
* Active participation in SIC shift production meetings, contributing insights and updates relevant to engineering operations.
Highlight top issues on current production and develop an action plan to resolve/manage in conjunction with Area Managers, ensure critical spares are acquired as necessary:
* Identifying and addressing key production issues, collaborating with Area Managers to develop effective action plans and ensure timely acquisition of critical spares.
Brief team regarding upcoming activities and priorities:
* Providing clear and concise briefings to the team on upcoming tasks, activities, and priorities, ensuring alignment and focus.
Review plan (engineering/operations) for any upcoming availability of assets for P.M. and remedial work opportunities, brief your teams accordingly:
* Identifying opportunities for planned maintenance and remedial work, coordinating with the team to ensure readiness and effective execution.
* Management of contract labour activities during shifts with effective communication between operations and Engineering.
Communication:
* Facilitate effective communication and coordination between in-house engineering teams, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
Shift Performance:
* Review performance of the shift with Area Managers in readiness for shift handover – ensure 100% lost time is accounted for during your shift with action plans for ongoing issues to deliver an effective solution.
* Providing detailed shift handover communication to the oncoming shift engineering Team Leader, ensuring accurate documentation of known issues and downtime and all downtime is accounted for.
Conduct and Procedure
* Detailed Root Cause Analysis reports for all major stoppages, segregations, and seam defects to facilitate resolution and prevention.
* Break adherence: manage your team’s breaks in conjunction with production needs to ensure that lines run to their optimal performance
* Managing team breaks in alignment with production requirements, optimizing line performance and productivity
