Materials Engineering Lead

Reading, UK

Join a major international project focused on refinery upgrades and petrochemical integration, at an early stage where key technical decisions are being shaped.

The Role

Client-side lead for materials, corrosion and metallurgy, ensuring integrity, reliability, and long-term performance of plant systems. This is a contract role for a Major Middle Eastern Energy & Petrochemical Project. The role is based in Reading, UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in corrosion, metallurgy, and material selection

• Review contractor designs and advise on materials and degradation risks

• Support HAZOP / design reviews and integrity strategies

• Define and optimise materials standards and specifications

• Contribute to vendor selection and technical evaluations

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years’ experience in materials / corrosion / metallurgy

• Strong background in Oil & Gas, refining, or petrochemical

• Experience on large-scale projects (FEED/EPC)

• Knowledge of high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive environments

• Middle East project exposure advantageous
