The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dependable professional with strong mechanical knowledge, leadership ability, and hands-on troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.Job Details

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Job Location: Baton Rouge, LA
  • Pay Rate: $33 per hour, depending on experience
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Position SummaryThis role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, supporting a safe work environment, and leading a team of maintenance professionals during assigned shifts. The Lead Maintenance Technician provides hands-on technical support while overseeing daily maintenance operations.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a maintenance crew on assigned shifts
  • Assign, prioritize, and verify completion of daily maintenance tasks
  • Provide training, technical support, and guidance to technicians
  • Communicate effectively with production teams, supervisors, and other departments
  • Ensure all work complies with company procedures and safety standards
  • Assist with planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, servos, conveyors, motors, and complex equipment
  • Install and remove motors, gearboxes, servos, and related components
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving bearings, sprockets, and power transmission components
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting under Arc Flash safety protocols
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters to evaluate system performance
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and lead others in resolving technical challenges
  • Work independently and guide team members in using manuals, tools, and available resources

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience (lead or senior technician experience )
  • Millwright experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of bearings, sprockets, mechanical systems, and power transmission
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and working under Arc Flash safety requirements
  • Prior plant or industrial environment experience
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and guide a team
  • Ability to provide strong professional references

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work in heat, noise, and industrial conditions while wearing required PPE
