Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep, repair, and safety of the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems. This role ensures that guest rooms and public areas are well-maintained and functioning properly to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas
- Address work orders promptly (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems
- Inspect hotel facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs
- Repair fixtures such as lighting, doors, locks, toilets, sinks, and appliances
- Maintain HVAC systems (filter changes, basic troubleshooting)
- Ensure pool/spa equipment is operating safely (if applicable)
- Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and guest requests
- Keep maintenance logs, records, and inventory of supplies
- Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and health regulations
- Assist with renovations, painting, and general upkeep projects
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience (hotel or facilities a plus)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Good communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform physical labor
- Ability to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold areas)
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- On-call availability for emergencies may be required
