Lead Hardware Engineer\nJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid\nCompetitive Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits\n\nA leading UK technology company specialising in advanced imaging and high-performance electronics is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to take ownership of complex, high-speed hardware designs.\n\nThis is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging products and seeing designs through from concept to production.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will lead the development of FPGA-centric, high-speed electronic systems used in specialist imaging and industrial applications. Working closely with firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams, you will deliver robust, production-ready hardware.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Leading complex hardware design projects from concept to production\n\n * Designing high-speed digital schematics (up to 50 Gbps)\n\n * Defining system and subsystem architectures\n\n * Chairing formal design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR)\n\n * Supporting verification, validation, and compliance\n\n * Evaluating and introducing new technologies\n\n * Producing clear technical documentation\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be an experienced electronics engineer with a strong background in high-speed digital design.\n\nEssential:\n\n * Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)\n\n * 8+ years’ experience in hardware/electronics design\n\n * Strong experience with FPGAs, processors, and power systems\n\n * Proven full product lifecycle experience\n\n * Confident with schematic capture (Altium )\n\n * Strong hands-on testing and debugging skills\n\nDesirable:\n\n * Imaging systems experience\n\n * DDR, PCIe Gen4+, SERDES, MIPI, LVDS\n\n * High-speed PCB and EMI/EMC knowledge\n\n * JTAG / XJTAG\n\n * Experience in regulated industries\n\nPackage and Benefits\n\n * Competitive basic salary\n\n * Bonus (up to 20%)\n\n * Hybrid working\n\n * Pension scheme\n\n * Life assurance\n\n * Health and wellbeing benefits\n\n * 26 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\nWhy Apply\n\n * Work on cutting-edge electronics and imaging products\n\n * High level of technical ownership and influence\n\n * Long-term career development in a growing technology business\n\n * Supportive, engineering-led culture
