We recently moved into a large shop in West Jordan, and we are growing quickly. We’re looking for a Lead Fabricator to take charge of shop production and mentor our team as we take on exciting commercial projects.

Position Overview
As a Lead Fabricator, you will be responsible for managing shop production, guiding a team of fabricators/welders, and ensuring structural steel components are built to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll set the pace for production, maintain quality control, and help develop the next of skilled fabricators.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily shop operations and ensure production meets project schedules and quality requirements.
• Mentor and train team members in welding, fabrication techniques, and safety best practices.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints for structural steel projects.
• Perform FCAW welding and hands-on fabrication as needed to support the team.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with AISC standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers and QC staff to resolve any fabrication or design challenges.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment at all times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a fabrication shop .
• Proficient in FCAW welding and capable of passing a 3G weld test.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints accurately.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication equipment, tools, and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead a team to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety.
