Lead / Chief Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction (Dayton/Troy Area)

The Role
This is a key, strategic leadership hire. The Lead / Chief Estimator will take ownership of the estimating function and play a major role in the company's future growth, with the opportunity to build and lead the estimating group over time.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading estimates for civil projects including roadway/asphalt and underground utilities

Reviewing plans and specifications, completing takeoffs, and developing competitive bids

Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing

Supporting project setup, budgeting, and change orders after award

Working closely with ownership, project managers, and field leadership in a team-first environment
What They're Looking For

5+ years of civil construction estimating experience (utilities, earthwork, roadway)

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience

Strong knowledge of the civil construction process from bid through closeout

Experience with HeavyBid and strong Excel skills

Detail-oriented, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills
