Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Engineer to support a Department of Defense (DoD) customer program focused on software development, simulation training, and mission planning. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in full-stack development, cloud services, and C5ISR Modeling & Simulation (M&S), along with hands-on experience in military operations and wargaming environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide senior-level technical leadership and hands-on expertise in architecting, developing, securing, implementing, testing, and sustaining software systems.
- Lead software sustainment and development teams within C5ISR Modeling & Simulation (M&S) environments.
- Maintain, improve, and migrate software code and functionality, including designing, updating, and replacing software components such as databases, simulations, and algorithms.
- Collaborate with Government Program Manager or M&S design led to align technical efforts with mission objectives.
- Work closely with Government and Contractor software teams to ensure seamless integration and operational effectiveness.
- Perform software tasks as outlined in the Contractor Performance Work Statement (PWS).
- Apply full-stack development expertise and agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Support simulation training efforts and mission planning activities, particularly in coordination with Air Operations Centers (AOCs).
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in software development using technologies such as C++, Python, AFSIM, web services, databases, and web applications.
- Experience with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure) and RESTful architectures.
- At least 2 years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming.
- At least 2 years of experience in simulation training at various levels, including work with Air Operations Centers (AOCs).
- Proven ability to lead software sustainment and development teams in C5ISR M&S environments.
- Extensive experience in full-stack development, agile methodologies, and associated development artifacts.
- Ability to perform software tasks as outlined in the Contractor Performance Work Statement (PWS).
