Interior Seating Lead Engineer – Automotive\nContract | Office-Based | Competitive Day Rate\n\nAn experienced Interior Seating Lead Engineer is required to support a premium automotive programme, delivering seating system design and release from concept through to production.\n\nThis role sits within Body Engineering / Interior Systems and requires strong ownership of automotive seating systems, including design, development, validation and engineering release.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Lead design and development of automotive seating systems and sub-systems\n\n * Full Design & Release (D&R) responsibility from concept to sign-off (DV completion)\n\n * Manage CAD design (CATIA V5 / V6 / 3DX)\n\n * Deliver to cost, weight, quality and timing targets\n\n * Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams\n\n * Support APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, Control Plans\n\n * Lead problem-solving using 8D and 5 Why methodologies\n\n * Manage engineering change and release systems\n\nEssential Experience:\n\n * Proven background in automotive seating design\n\n * Strong CATIA V5, CATIA V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) skills\n\n * Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, Core Tools\n\n * Design & Release within an automotive OEM or Tier 1\n\n * Experience delivering through validation and sign-off\n\n * Supplier management and programme delivery experience\n\nDesirable:\n\n * Premium or luxury vehicle programmes\n\n * Seat safety systems (airbags, ISOFIX)\n\n * Knowledge of global automotive regulations\n\nThis is a hands-on engineering role requiring delivery ownership, stakeholder management and strong technical depth in seating systems.\n\nApply now if you have proven automotive seating D&R experience and are available for an office-based contract position
