Job DescriptionLead Engineer – Aldgate, London - FM Service Provider – £52,000 per annum

CBW is recruiting for a Lead Engineer to work on the tenant side within a high-quality commercial office building in Central London. The property provides a premium office environment with a strong focus on reliability, compliance, and occupant comfort.

This is a standalone role where you will act as the senior on-site engineer for a key tenant, taking full ownership of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical services. Working Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, you will liaise closely with building management and external contractors to ensure smooth and efficient building operations.

The position includes participation in a call-out rota and offers a high level of paid overtime for those who wish to increase their earnings.

This role suits an experienced engineer who is confident working independently and maintaining high standards within a professional office environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage agreed KPIs and SLAs alongside the Supervisor

\n

• Arrange and oversee specialist subcontractors

\n

• Manage reports and site logbooks in partnership with the Contract Manager and Supervisor

\n

• Ensure all documentation is current and audit-ready

\n

• Attend client meetings as required

\n

• Lighting: small installations, fault-finding, lamp replacements, etc.

\n

• Carry out emergency lighting and fire alarm testing

\n

• Air conditioning maintenance: AHUs / FCUs (filter changes, cleaning, basic checks)

\n

• Monitor and adjust BMS as required (e.g., hot/cold calls)

\n

• Maintain all statutory compliance requirements

\n

Requirements

\n
• Electrical or Mechanical qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent)

• Multi-skilled with a strong commercial building maintenance background

\n

• Client-facing, professional and presentable

\n

• Hard-working, honest and reliable
