Lead Engineer

As a Lead Engineer, you are responsible for the technical integrity of projects throughout the execution phase:

• Requesting and coordinating discipline engineers and managing their technical input
• Leading the assessment of contractor documentation and taking responsibility for all technical aspects of projects
• Active involvement in project realization, from detailed design through commissioning, with frequent presence on-site
• Maintaining close contact with internal and external stakeholders, including regional grid operators and contractor engineers
• Supporting and advising during the tendering, design, and execution phases
• Reviewing and approving:
  • Technical specifications
  • Work packages
  • Drawings and calculations
• Working with multiple contract types, including traditional contracts, UAV, and UAV-GC

Candidate Profile
Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-voltage engineering (≥110 kV), including substations
  • Alternatively:
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for experienced engineers
    • Engineers with experience from ≥10 kV networks are also eligible

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership or coordination capabilities (not mandatory for experienced engineers)
• Analytical, structured, and able to maintain a helicopter view
• Strong communication skills and resilience under time pressure
• Experience with project-based working methods (e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA)
• Knowledge of and experience with:
  • Contract forms (Specifications, UAV, UAV-GC)
  • Systems-Oriented Contract Management
  • Systems Engineering
  • Requirements management tools such as Relatics
• Full professional fluency in Dutch (mandatory)
