As a Lead Engineer, you are responsible for the technical integrity of projects throughout the execution phase:
- Requesting and coordinating discipline engineers and managing their technical input
- Leading the assessment of contractor documentation and taking responsibility for all technical aspects of projects
- Active involvement in project realization, from detailed design through commissioning, with frequent presence on-site
- Maintaining close contact with internal and external stakeholders, including regional grid operators and contractor engineers
- Supporting and advising during the tendering, design, and execution phases
- Reviewing and approving:
- Technical specifications
- Work packages
- Drawings and calculations
- Working with multiple contract types, including traditional contracts, UAV, and UAV-GC
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-voltage engineering (≥110 kV), including substations
- Alternatively:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for experienced engineers
- Engineers with experience from ≥10 kV networks are also eligible

Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership or coordination capabilities (not mandatory for experienced engineers)
- Analytical, structured, and able to maintain a helicopter view
- Strong communication skills and resilience under time pressure
- Experience with project-based working methods (e.g. PRINCE2, IPMA)
- Knowledge of and experience with:
- Contract forms (Specifications, UAV, UAV-GC)
- Systems-Oriented Contract Management
- Systems Engineering
- Requirements management tools such as Relatics
- Full professional fluency in Dutch (mandatory)
