We are hiring a Lead Embedded Software Engineer for a global instrumentation company developing high-performance, microcontroller-based products used across a range of industrial and technical applications.

The business has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence, with a robust firmware codebase and core technology. As they continue to invest in new product development, they are looking to strengthen system architecture, processes, and technical leadership within the firmware function.

Role Details

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on embedded firmware, system architecture, and new product development. You will act as the primary technical expert while driving structure, accountability, and execution across firmware initiatives.

• Lead embedded C firmware development for microcontroller-based systems
• Own system architecture, requirements, and block diagrams
• Drive new product development from concept to release
• Improve CI/CD, testing, and development processes
• Develop drivers and hardware interfaces
• Lead board bring-up and hardware debugging
• Partner with hardware and cross-functional teams
• Drive technical direction, execution, and accountability

Qualifications

• 6 + years in embedded systems or firmware
• Strong C programming (low-level / embedded)
• Experience with microcontrollers and RTOS
• System architecture and design experience
• Board bring-up and hardware debugging
• Memory management in constrained systems
• Driver / HAL development experience
• Proven technical leadership or ownership
