Lead Electrical Technician

Position Summary

The Lead Electrical Technician is responsible for performing residential and light commercial electrical service, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and project oversight. This position serves as the lead field representative for Bill Gilbert Electric and is responsible for maintaining high-quality workmanship, ensuring customer satisfaction, mentoring junior electricians, and completing projects safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
• Perform residential and light commercial electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades.
• Install and service panels, breakers, wiring, lighting, generators, EV chargers, surge protection, and related electrical equipment.
• Lead and coordinate field crews on service calls and projects.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC requirements, local codes, and company standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding project scope, findings, and recommendations.
• Complete service documentation, photos, invoices, and notes accurately through company software.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
• Identify additional customer needs and communicate opportunities to management.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of residential electrical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read and understand electrical plans and specifications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical work in various conditions.
